BIO
Judith Laguerre is an emerging contemporary photographer. Born in 1976 in the
United States to parents of Caribbean Heritage, her imagery explores cross
cultural assimilation. She received her B.F.A in Photography in 1999 from New
Jersey City University. Judith's work has been exhibited at El Museo
Francisco Oller Y Diego Rivera in Buffalo NY. Most recently, her work has
been selected by The International Center of Photography in NY for a
forthcoming group exhibition entitled Only Skin Deep: Changing Visions of The
American Self. Presently, her work has been selected by Spoke the Hub
Re-creation Center in Brooklyn NY for a solo showcase. She currently resides
in Teaneck NJ.

Artist Statement:
relatINg: IN Society and The Self is a self-account exploration of the
adolescent experience. The series of thirty color photographs range from
super-close-ups of facial features to nose-dives into pots of gleaming kidney
beans.
