Information
Born and educated in Co.Antrim,
Northern Ireland.
I am hoping to follow in the tradition of many self taught Irish artists.
The work is
moving more towards abstraction though still retaining a strong sense of
subject matter. It contains elements of landscape, figures, and images on
walls.
Texture through collage, paint, and many inert materials are central to
the work.
The painting process I strive for is that of a dreaming childlike vision,
applying paint instinctively and spontaneously. The surface often highly
textured leads many times to a battle being waged with it.
The media is mainly and often hand prepared. The multi-layered surface,
palimpsests images conjuring up a world of memories different to everyone.
