Essence of creativity:

Dialectics of interrelations of spiritual and material, struggle between Good and Evil, Light and Darkness in a human soul constitutes the leading idea of painter's artworks.

This artistic manner can be also called a way of image-bearing constructing and reconstructing of human inner life forms in the aspect of their transformations in Time and Space. Human being is left face to face with major problems of existence.

Figurative language of the artist is based on the system of "signs", due to which he is able to communicate to viewer basic meanings of his allegoric compositions and constructions.

Artist incarnates specific ideas thoroughly thought out "simplifications" and expressive not monosemantic images, which allows the problems discussed by the author to be comprehended under various aspects.

Dmitry Zenkovich

After graduation from the Belarusian Academy of Arts, Dmitry Zenkovich has relatively quickly found his own individual style due to not only the considerable gifting of the young artist, but also to the distinctness of his artistic view. This view is characterized by the aspiration to create on the surface of a canvas "another world" - a harlequin, eccentric one, but, at the same time, penetrated with the sense of unity and mystery of the being. The compositions of his pictures are built on the transphenomenal links with his time, on his poetic experience and emotions, and, mostly, on the allegoric depiction.

He finds support to his artistic seeking in the modern arts, in the oeuvre of Mark Shagal. The artistic images of the Zenkovich's canvases are equally phantasmagoric, polysemantic and paradoxical.

The artist has certainly got a very peculiar talent of the spectacular stage director. His canvases are like theatrical parables. Their fantasy is rich; the sense of restless and dramatic tension is expressed in them very sharply and fancily. The peculiarity and eccentricity of the composition, the decorative and dramaturgic expression of colors perfectly fit the artist's intention to depict the sense of beauty of the world, which is amazing in its undisclosed mysteries. In this world any objects come to life and play roles given to them; all and everything can be joined and mated. The characters and objects become as if simultaneously involved into two semantic systems: one is life that doesn't depend on the being and the other is life that is refracted in the being, where everything seems to breathe with the sense of significance of the being.
