Biography

Carol Ann

"I put my philosophy, perceptions and beliefs onto canvas which I can only achieve in a modern or abstract form. After enjoying many hours spent reading philosophy and studying psychology, I take on the task of bringing out the basic emotions from my daily observations and reading. The study of people makes me want to reach out and connect with others on a deeper level.  The diversity of emotions expressed in the body of my artwork mirrors the complexity of strengths and weaknesses that make each one of us whole. I begin by choosing a color palate and theme but allow flexibility for the paintings often breathe a life of their own and take on an independent shape.  Although some involve weeks of preparation prior to putting paint on the canvas, I allow them to evolve and am often surprised by the final product. At times I am just the vehicle for a creation that WAS not of my consciousness.  Because of this, I welcome in all other perceptions of my work as I feel even the simplest pieces have many layers of meaning beyond my intentions.  Life is a journey that I hope brings with it a tolerance and shines a light on the humanity in us all.  My paintings are my most intimate expression of my experiences on the path I've traveled so far.  Thank you for joining me. “Carol Ann

Wonderful children and true love are  the sweetest of inspirations.

Carol Ann has a depth of integrity that can only come from facing life with courage and strength.  Many people experience their lives as if they are being held ransom by their experiences.  Carol Ann takes everything she encounters and triumphs through focused will and the acceptance of her own responsibility in writing the story of her life.

In Carol Ann's creations, I see her ability to become intimate with that piece of others that has known struggle.  She goes beyond the battle to display the possibility of enlightenment. The most inspiring part of her work is the outcome. In her art the ending is joy.
